Wenn ich durch die Straßen von Berlin laufe, habe ich manchmal das Gefühl, als wenn die Stadt versucht mit mir zu reden. Bäume, Gebäude, Straßenlaternen, Ampeln, Autos, vorbeifliegende Vögel, und vor allem Menschen. An Kreuzungen oder auf öffentlichen Plätzen, in Einkaufszentren und beliebten Aufenthaltsorten, Menschenmassen üben eine große Faszination auf mich. Wenn ich an diesen Orten bin, ich glaube, ich fühle den Herzschlag eines jeden um mich herum. Herzschlag von Tausenden von Menschen, Herzen derer, die dieser Stadt ihr einzigartiges Anblick geben.

When I walk through the streets of Berlin, sometimes I feel as if the city is trying to talk to me. Trees, buildings, street lights, traffic lights, cars, birds flying by, and especially people. At crossroads or in public places, shopping centers, masses of people exert a great fascination for me. Being at all of these places, I think, I feel the heartbeat of any around me. Heartbeat of thousands of people, the heart of those who give the city its unique appearance.

Когда я хожу по улицам Берлина, иногда я чувствую как будто город пытается говорить со мной. Деревья, здания, фонарные столбы, светофоры, автомобили, птицы летящие мимо, и особенно люди. На перекрестках или в местах массового скопления людей, в крупных торговых центрах и популярных местах отдыха, массы оказывают на меня большое влияние. Когда я нахожусь в таких местах, я думаю что чувствую биение сердц всех окружающих меня. Сердца тысяч людей стучат. Я чувствую беение сердец тех, кто придает этому городу его неповторимый вид.
